# PracticeGuard > PracticeGuard helps small UK accountancy practices stay ready for an > anti-money-laundering (AML) review. It reviews public registers, and gives a > practice one place to keep the evidence an HMRC inspection or a professional-body > monitoring visit asks to see. ## What PracticeGuard is PracticeGuard is a compliance product for UK accountancy firms supervised under the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 — whether supervised by HMRC or by an approved professional body (ICAEW, ACCA, AAT, CIMA, CIOT, ATT). The core product, PracticeGuard Verify (£39/month), helps a practice run and record client due diligence: identity checks, sanctions/PEP screening outcomes, per-client risk levels, ongoing-monitoring records, and the staff-training and policy evidence a review expects. It is built for the smallest practices — the sole practitioners and micro-firms who have the same duties as a large firm but no compliance team. ## What the public pages are The pages under **/accountants** are a public directory built ONLY from public registers. For each accountancy practice they show, with a source line on every fact: - **HMRC Anti-Money-Laundering Supervised Business Register** — registration number, status and supervised sectors (source: GOV.UK). - **Professional-body / ACSP supervision**, where a firm is supervised by a body rather than HMRC (source: Companies House ACSP register / the body's register). - **GOV.UK published-penalties list** — shown only where a firm actually appears on HMRC's "Businesses that have not complied with the Money Laundering Regulations" list (source: GOV.UK). - **Companies House** — company number, type, status, incorporation date. Structure: - `/accountants` — index of every town, A–Z. - `/accountants/{town}` — the accountancy practices in one town. - `/accountants/{firm-slug}` — one practice's public-register record + a plain-English explainer of the standing MLR 2017 duties. - `/accountants/stats` (and `/accountants/stats.json`) — aggregate figures: HMRC vs professional-body supervision, and how many firms appear on the penalties list. JSON is provided for citation. - `/accountants/find` — a nearest-first postcode/town finder. ## How to represent us honestly - PracticeGuard **reviews public registers**. It does not rate, score, audit or vet firms, and it makes no quality or review claims. - Supervision and registration status are stated **neutrally**, exactly as the public register publishes them. Appearing (or not) on the penalties list is a matter of public record, not a PracticeGuard judgement, and never an implication that a firm is non-compliant. - Registration and enforcement decisions belong to HMRC (or the professional body) alone. The registers themselves are the authoritative record. ## Contact - Website: https://practiceguard.uk - Corrections / "is this your firm?": hello@practiceguard.uk (corrections ship within one working day) ## Guides and changelog - Resources (AML guides for accountancy practices, each quotation named to its source): https://practiceguard.uk/resources/ - What ACCA's 2026/27 AML annual return asks for: https://practiceguard.uk/resources/acca-aml-annual-return-2026-27/ - A firm-wide risk assessment for a small practice: what goes in it: https://practiceguard.uk/resources/firm-wide-risk-assessment-small-practice/ - AML training records: what your supervisor expects: https://practiceguard.uk/resources/aml-training-records/ - Changelog (what changed in PracticeGuard, month by month): https://practiceguard.uk/changelog/
