Send your client one secure link. PracticeGuard gathers their identity evidence on their phone, screens them against the latest sanctions lists and PEP roster, re-screens them for sanctions and PEP changes on a schedule you set, and files a dated, inspection-ready audit pack — from £39 a month + VAT, with re-screening and every seat included. No per-user fees.
Add the client's name and email — they get a secure verification link that works on any phone. No app to install.
The client photographs their ID and takes a short selfie. On an iPhone they can also read their passport chip; a chip read comes to you for review.
The document read, the face match and the sanctions & PEP screening come back for your review, against the latest lists. Anything doubtful is flagged — never silently cleared. The verification decision is yours.
A dated audit pack per client: the document, the match result, the screening outcome and the list versions used. Download it or leave it on file.
Client onboarding should be quick, so the flow is built to finish in one sitting — and if a client stalls, you can see exactly where they stopped. Notes for your MLRO are further down the page.
Document capture with a server-side face match against a live selfie. Stronger evidence than a database ping — you hold the document read and the match, not just a reference number, and you make the verification decision.
Every client screened against the UK Sanctions List (OFSI/FCDO), OFAC and UN lists, checked every day, and against the OpenSanctions PEP roster, refreshed every week — with the list versions recorded in the evidence, and doubtful matches escalated for review.
Set re-screening per client — monthly, quarterly or annually. Each run re-checks sanctions and PEP status on the details already held, and is logged whether or not anything changed, giving you a dated record of each re-screen for your Regulation 28(11) ongoing-monitoring file. If a re-screen finds a worse result than the last, you are alerted by email. The rest of your ongoing monitoring stays with your practice.
A running file per client, and a dated audit pack you can hand to an HMRC or professional-body reviewer: what was checked, against which lists, with what result — stored under a 5-year retention lock.
For corporate clients: company screening with beneficial-ownership (UBO) capture, so the humans behind the entity get screened too.
Every accountant, bookkeeper and support-staff member on one account, one price. No per-user charges — who runs the check should never be a licensing decision.
We run the screening engine ourselves. The UK Sanctions List (OFSI and FCDO), OFAC and the UN lists are checked for updates every day, the OpenSanctions PEP roster is refreshed every week, and the biometric face match runs on our own servers. Every check records the list versions it ran against.
The per-check price looks small — £2–£5 a client. Then the bill grows: PEP screening billed separately, ongoing monitoring separately, a platform fee, per-user seats, sometimes a training subscription. For a small practice the bolt-ons dwarf the checks — and you're assembling compliance from four invoices.
PracticeGuard Verify is £39 a month + VAT — 15 checks a month, scheduled sanctions and PEP re-screening, unlimited seats and dated audit packs all included, not added on. Beyond 15, checks are £2.50 + VAT each; we never block a check mid-onboarding, the counter keeps count.
Your first month is free — all 15 checks, no card. A live counter in the corner of the screen shows exactly where you stand, and you can close the account in one click.
The AML return pack is £149 + VAT a year, with or without Verify. See the AML return pack
PracticeGuard supports your judgement; it never replaces it. Client due diligence decisions — including enhanced due diligence and anything a screening result flags for review — remain the responsibility of your practice's MLRO / nominated officer. We give you the evidence and the audit trail; the call is yours.
Our evidence is document + biometric + screening. We read the client's identity document, biometrically match it to a live selfie, and screen against the sanctions and PEP lists; you make the verification decision with that evidence in front of you. PracticeGuard is not on the digital verification services register, and HM Treasury and DSIT's approved guidance of 26 February 2026 says a service outside it “cannot reliably be deemed suitable for identity verification in compliance with the MLRs”, so treat our record as evidence alongside your own verification or a registered provider's check. We do not currently run credit-bureau electronic-footprint checks or a source-of-funds workflow — those are not part of it today. Source-of-funds support is on the roadmap.
We are independent. PracticeGuard is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, HMRC, ICAEW, ACCA or any AML supervisor. The sanctions lists we use are the official published UK Sanctions List (OFSI/FCDO), US OFAC and UN lists, checked for updates every day; the PEP roster is the OpenSanctions dataset, refreshed every week. Every check records which list versions it ran against.
Set-up takes a few minutes — your practice's details are usually already in our register data. Create your account, send your first link and see the audit pack it produces.
